How we price

Succession work varies with the number of shareholders, whether there is already a draft will or shareholders’ agreement, and how many working sessions the family needs. We prefer fixed-scope fees once discovery is clear, so you are not watching a clock during difficult conversations.

Travel within a reasonable distance of New Mistley is included. Longer UK travel and overnight stays are billed at cost with prior approval.

What influences a quote

  • Number of family members who must be interviewed
  • Whether sessions are on-site, in New Mistley, or remote
  • Existing disputes or stalled legal work that need sequencing
  • Urgency driven by retirement dates, health, or a pending offer for the business

Deposits and invoicing

A 40% deposit confirms the booking. The balance is invoiced on delivery of the final plan or workshop pack. We do not offer subscription retainers by default; if a family wants quarterly check-ins after a plan is live, we quote that separately.

What fees do not cover

Solicitor and accountant charges, formal business valuations, and any mediation that turns into dispute resolution sit outside our invoices. We will flag those needs early so you can budget with your other advisers.

Next step

Request a scoped proposal with a short note on your ownership structure and preferred timing. We respond within two working days with either a fixed fee or a short discovery day quote.
